Katherine Stanton (2012-2014)

Name: Katherine Stanton

Chameleon Years: 2012-2014

Chameleon Position: Editor-in-Chief

Why You Joined the Chameleon: I love reading and creative writing and wanted to get involved.

Why You Loved the Chameleon: I found a group I belonged and loved working with for the Chameleon and spending time with outside of the journal.

Favorite Chameleon Project: My favorite part of my time was building the Chameleon and watching it expand well past the English Department and Liberal Arts College. One of my fondest memories is when we relaunched the Chameleon after many years of it being an unknown part of the school.

Most Proud of: How well we brought so many different people across the campus together to not only develop the Chameleon but also be featured within. I am also so proud of the relaunch book we put together because it caught everyone’s eye and put the journal on the map for the following years.

Current Job: Social Work – Florida Statewide Guardian ad Litem Office

How the Chameleon Helped Your Career: I do a lot of writing, public speaking, and working together with others in my field and these skills were developed at Norwich and expanded and cultivated further with my time on the Chameleon.

I have worked in social work for over eight years and currently represent children and their best interest in all aspects of their dependency case and educational needs in Florida. I met my husband while at Norwich, and we have a 6-year-old son and will welcome a baby girl in October 2025.

Abi Donahue (2011-2015)

Name: Abi Donahue

Chameleon Years: 2011-2015

Chameleon Position: Editor-in-Chief

Why You Joined the Chameleon: To be a part of a writing-focused group to further my education in the English program.

Why You Loved the Chameleon: As an English major, I wanted to cultivate a culture of literary arts on campus. I enjoyed exploring work from other students and nurturing their love of content creation. Starting off as an editor gave me exposure to some amazing art, both visual and written. I was continuously impressed by the literary talents of Norwich students, and I wanted to be a part of sharing their voices for the remainder of my Norwich career. This experience later led to my becoming the editor-in-chief, where I had the incredible opportunity of leading the publication’s creation.

Favorite Chameleon Project: When I was the editor-in-chief, I thoroughly enjoyed working on designing the layout of the journal—a skill that was brand new to me at the time. I taught myself InDesign and led the creation of a grayscale journal. It was unique and timeless, and I had some highly talented editors helping me.

Most Proud of: Bringing together students from all walks of life to share in the joys of literary art.

Current Job: Global Manager of UX Design

How the Chameleon Helped Your Career: I manage a team of highly technical and creative software interface designers. The leadership, communication, and creativity skills I built during my time on the Chameleon have certainly come in handy.

Abigael Donahue brings a distinctive literary perspective to the world of software. After graduating from Norwich University in 2015 with a degree in English, she channeled her passion for storytelling and critical analysis into a dynamic career in technology. The invaluable communication and analytical skills built at Norwich not only serve as a powerful asset in the professional world but also enrich her everyday life.

Dana DeMartino (2014, 2015)

Name: Dana DeMartino

Chameleon Years: 2014-2015

Chameleon Position: PoemCampus Creator

Why You Joined the Chameleon: The Chameleon was one of the few opportunities for creative expression on campus, and I enjoyed being a part of a group interested in fostering that type of space.

Why You Loved the Chameleon: Professor Prentiss really encouraged me both as a writer and as a young adult. This was an activity completely unrelated to my academic major or the Corps, which made it a great outlet and stress relief.

Favorite Chameleon Project: Professor Prentiss helped bring PoemCampus to Norwich. We mirrored Montpelier’s PoemCity event and celebrated National Poetry Month by posting student poems all over campus, organizing poetry readings, and hosting authors for poetry readings. It was cool to see the juxtaposition of creative expression on a military campus, and it was a tangible way for students to see that many of their peers were also interested in creative writing.

Most Proud of: Working on PoemCampus.

Current Job: Law student

Current Bio: I graduated from Norwich in 2015 with degrees in Criminal Justice and Psychology. Upon graduation, I spent five years in the US Army as a Field Artillery Officer and later as a Human Resources Officer. Now, I am in my second year at New York University School of Law, where I am interested in civil rights issues related to incarceration and police misconduct.

Caitlyn George (2022, 2023, 2024)
Caitlyn George (2022, 2023, 2024)

Name: Caitlyn George

Chameleon Years: 2022, 2023, 2024

Chameleon Position: Editor-in-Chief

Why You Joined the Chameleon: I joined The Chameleon because one of my close friends, L Lakhani, was the Editor-in-Chief during the 2022-23 year and she asked me to help as an editor. I said yes because I was intrigued by the idea of helping run a literary arts journal.

Why You Loved the Chameleon: I volunteered so much time to The Chameleon because I believe(ed) so much in the power of its message on Norwich’s campus. I am, and have always been, an advocate for the arts and humanities. Within them, there is heart and soul and love. The Chameleon sprinkles specks of fantasy among the Green Mountains, and it digs craters in the soil. It roots itself in identity, exploration, and the world.
The journal is a living, breathing entity that preserves decades of Norwich heart and soul and love. I’d like to say I helped breathe life into The Chameleon, but I rather think it’s the other way around.

Favorite Chameleon Project: There were so many parts of my time with The Chameleon that I loved. Creating the new digital platform from scratch. Taking pictures for the content headings, working with my friends to get my vision just right. The end-of-year reveal with the entire Department of Humanities. Those who know me know that I am a tad theatrical, so a grand reveal of the new Chameleon was so fun to do.

However, my actual favorite part of working with The Chameleon was its content. There are true talents who are walking and have walked up and down the never-ending stairs of Norwich’s campus. Having access to their art, ideas, and words felt so sacred to me. It was an incredibly special part of my time at Norwich to have worked on The Chameleon.

Most Proud of: I’m most proud of our ability to create a whole digital version of The Chameleon for the first time ever in less than one year. I couldn’t have done it without the constant support and guidance of Professor Prentiss, my fantastic editors, or my friends. I was very proud to have been Editor-in-Chief during such a crucial transitional time in the journal’s history. The last physical edition of The Chameleon had my friend L at the head of the journey, and the first online edition had me. It felt very special to me.

Current Job: Middle School ELA Teacher

How the Chameleon Helped Your Career: My job uses too many of the skills I cultivated at The Chameleon to list. A few key ones would be leadership, time management, organization, editing, and perseverance.

Current Bio: My name is Caitlyn George, and I graduated from Norwich in 2024. I got my master’s in teaching English at NYU in 2025 and have since started a middle school teaching job in Brooklyn, NY. I wouldn’t be where I am without the Chameleon or Norwich’s dedicated Department of Global Humanities. Shoutout Professor Pivetti, Professor Woodbury Tease, Professor Prentiss, and Professor Casey for being the teachers who inspired me so much that I went to graduate school.
