Prizes

The Chameleon Literary Journal offers the following prizes.

Allan Nason Prize ($250)

Allan Leonard Hastings Nason (1889-1970) was a Norwich graduate of 1920. Nason was an untamed spirit, and it shows in his writing. He wrote about war and soldiers, and his characters are not respectful of authority. Typically, they are trying to find a way to come out ahead, though not at the expense of the war effort. Nason’s accounts of war focus on an individual in relation to the whole war machine, and the way the machine grinds all down. The Allan Nason Prose Prize goes to the best piece of prose that deals with Corps of Cadets life or war. It is sponsored by Robert Halleck.

Robert Halleck Poetry Prize ($250)

Robert Halleck is a 1964 graduate of Norwich University. Poetry has been a love of his for over sixty years. He lives in Del Mar, California, with his wife Della Janis. Bob is a member of San Diego’s Not Dead Yet Poets and hopes to continue with that group for many years. A Google search for < Robert Halleck Poetry > will turn up his latest work. The Robert Halleck Poetry Prize is awarded for the best poem by a Norwich student. It is sponsored by Robert Halleck.
